  We had four generations on a family vacation. We rented this house and the second house available on the street. We were able to walk to the beach. We had family dinner and BBQ most nights. The house was clean, the kitchen was great, the garage was stocked with beach chairs, boogie boards, etc. Having laundry made a huge difference. The property texted when we arrived and was responsive to anything we needed, including questions about recycling and even where to get a pedicure! We will stay here again and highly recommend!

  The Hale Ko Cottage was exactly as advertised. The space was plenty large enough for two couples. The separated rooms with en suites made the space very functional. A large living room and kitchen area had all the comforts of home. The kitchen was fully stocked and many appliances made preparing meals very easy.
  The location of the cottage is ideal. It is about a 5 to 10 minute walk in either direction to gorgeous beaches. The location to a paid tennis court was ideal for our party and pools were abundant in the Poipu Kai complex leaving many options at our disposal.
  My only suggestion for the owners would be to make the backyard space more usable. While tables, chairs and a BBQ make the space functional, the grounds could use some attention. Overall, this is not a deal breaker and the cottage as a whole is easily recommendable to anyone looking to enjoy the beauty of the Poipu area.

  Hale Ko Cottage is a gem! "Cottage" does not give it justice! We found the home spacious, clean, and quiet. Hale Ko was the "home base" during our stay with other family members for breakfast and dinner each day and to wind down. We loaded up on groceries at Costco, but did go to Big Save in town a few times.
  
  The home had everything we needed. Great location and easy to find. Beaches are just a few minutes drive. The amenities (washer, dryer, beach towels, beach chairs and the AC) were perfect for our stay. We used the bbq on a daily basis. We did not hear the street traffic like other guests.
  
  The garage is a little small (we rented a van), but that was ok as we parked "in the yard". You definitely need to be able to back into the space, as the driveway between the homes is not that wide.
  
  We incidentally had friends vacationing in Kauai who visited with us and they were impressed with our accommodations.
  
  We had such a lovely time and I really did not want to leave. The next time we get back to Poipu, we will definitely try to stay here!

  We stayed almost 3 weeks. The house has been well looked after. The washing machine is huge so we had less loads to do. The network worked well and had ok speed. It is in a great location and is near a fruit stand that you can get fresh veggies and fruits. The kitchen was well equipped with pretty much all needed to cook the various cuisines we enjoy.

  I have stayed in vacation rentals all over the world and the Hale Ko Cottage was one of the best. The self check-in process with the lock box makes arrival a breeze and the spotless home was stocked with everything we needed for our stay. The bathrooms had hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel. There were plenty of bath towels and wash clothes and even a supply of beach towels. The kitchen was stocked with paper towels, plenty of extra dish towels, dish soap and garbage bags. The kitchen was also stocked with appropriate pans and utensils for cooking and even a blender for making frozen drinks. The washer and dryer in the garage had laundry soap and there were beach chairs and boogie boards as well as a cooler. The bedrooms were huge so we didn't feel cramped even with our luggage spread out. The indoor and outdoor areas had ample seating for relaxing. The A/C in the unit was a luxury not available in many Kauai rentals. We enjoyed access to the Poipu Beach Athletic Club (the pool has towel service included) as well as the pool within the Poipu Kai resort. The cottage was location was a perfect launching pad for our exploration of Kauai. We stocked up on drinks and snacks at Whaler's General store and enjoyed coffee and acai bowls for breakfast at Little Fish. Since we used the A/C and fans, we were not bothered whatsoever by the traffic noise that other reviewers mentioned. I'm already planning my next trip to Kauai and would love to stay at Hale Ko again!

  This cottage exceeded our expectations in every way. From the beautiful flowers greeting us on our arrival, to the newly remodeled interior and two large master bedrooms with baths. It was situated so nicely between both Shipwreck and Poipu beaches - what a beautiful walk to both. Loved the washer and dryer and beach toys that were available for our use. I would highly recommend this property to anyone taking two couples to Kaui. I wished we would have stayed here the entire trip - we went up north for last 4 days of our trip and liked this place so much better!   Cute, well organized Poipu cottage. Perfect for our family of three. Bedrooms separated and two full baths. Well decorated and all the kitchen amenities you need. The grill was wonderful to have for fish meals at home. The washer broke while we were there and the manager arranged to have our laundry picked up and dropped off. There were beach toys and location was great for all the southern beaches. Only downside is the noise from intersecting busy roads near by. The landscaping is well done so visually this is not a detractor but you can certainly here trucks and car stereos go by at night and during nap time. We had sound machines and that helped. Overall wonderful getaway!!

First of all the house was very clean. We couldn't find any area that was neglected. We didn't expect to find many items in the kitchen but everything we needed was there.   Recently stayed a week at Hale Ko while attending a conference at the Hyatt. The rental is perfectly located on the Greenbelt, which is an easy ten minute walk to either Shipwreck Beach or Poipu Beach. Hale Ko was very clean and cute. Larger than we expected and has all the amenities you need. The added feature of washer\dryer allowed us to pack very light. The location is perfect for exploring all parts of the island.   We were very pleased with the home. It was beautiful, clean, modern, and spacious. We enjoyed being in the heart of a larger resort. The street noise (beginning about 630am daily) was loud, especially because of the speed bump directly in front of the bedrooms. The bamboo curtains in the bedrooms were transparent, so we needed to dress in the bathroom. Local beaches and restaurants are wonderful. Inside paths were very pleasant areas in which to walk. Grounds are well-maintained.

  Hale Ko is a cute bungalow in a court of 4 little bungalows. Clean, bright, modern space. Kitchen area quite adequate for anyone wanting to cook meals in, which we did a number of times. Made use of the barbecue a few times. Great to have supplies such as dish and dishwasher soap, shampoo, conditioner and body wash. No laundry soap available but great to have a washer and dryer available. Lots of towels, both bath and kitchen. As noted in other reviews, there is some traffic noise. It is a bit of a walk to the pool but it was a great place to escape to in the later afternoons, after we were done with the beach. Nice to have a place to call home while staying on this amazing island.

  My wife and 2 year old stayed in Poipu at this large 2 bedroom unit in March. Owners/unit manager were responsive to innquiries, etc.
  
  The building is large, clean, modern and well stocked with everything you need. The location in Poipu is pretty good with a short 5 minute walk to the pool and the beach. Beach area is nice and kid friendly with great snorkeling. We saw many sea turtles up close. Pool is not heated unfortunately but luckily our little guy liked the hot tub. Only real complaint was proximity of the unit to a busy road and nap time for our little guy was interrupted by large trucks so we had to keep the windows closed.

  We stayed at Hale Ko for 6 nights in January. The house was perfect for us, traveling with four adults and our 3 month old. The house is beautiful and has everything you need for an enjoyable vacation experience. We cooked most of our meals and loved the short walk to two swimable beaches. My parents loved being able to use the resort hot tub nearby as well. As an added bonus the surrounding neighbors and other vacationers were all also very friendly. We felt very safe here as well as a security guard patrols the resort on a regular basis. We would definitely stay here again!

  Hale Ko was one of the nicest places we have ever stayed! We did not want to be in a condo or resort, so we searched descriptions of small houses and cottages and ended up choosing this one. Wow...are we glad we did! This is the most adorable, well appointed cottage, located in a quiet neighborhood, and close to anything you might want to do in Poipu. Everything you might need with the exception of food and drink (even some of the basics were provided) are there. Grocery stores and farmers' markets are close by. And if you don't want to cook, great restaurants of various price ranges are also easily accessible.
  The folks at Poipu 365 are fabulous too. Christine was not only friendly, but efficient and very helpful. They supply paperwork with directions from the airport, how to get into the lockbox, how to use appliances, etc., so they make it easy to enjoy it all. We had one small problem with a window, and she sent their handyman, Lionel, out to fix it. He was great!
  If you're looking for a just-the-two-of-you place, Hale Ko is a great choice!

  This cottage had everything needed for a very comfortable and relaxing vacation. Stayed for 8 nights, just minutes from Poipu Beach, great eating establishments, fantastic food. Having a full kitchen and laundry available was perfect.

  We were in Hawaii for our friends wedding in July. They were staying at the Villa's about 200m away. Five us stayed here and had a fabulous time. It's nice to be able to cook some of your own meals and have the grill outside. The entire place was very well setup and provisioned. We took the twin beds apart to have 2 singles and put one person on an inflatable mattress on the floor. The other bed was a full king. The management company was very easy to work with and I would highly recommend this place to others looking for a hotel alternative in the Poipu area.

  My wife and I really enjoyed the place. It was all new and fresh and very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked and TV's in each room.The location is great and the fresh flowers on arrival was a nice touch.We could not have been more pleased and plan to stay again in the future.

  This was a very pleasant place to stay. You can walk to pretty much everything except old Koloa in under 30 minutes. The house is pretty giant and cools wonderfully. It has a functional, well tooled, kitchen which my wife an I used for everything from curries, to vegan delights, to simple reheated meals. For obvious reasons (the tropics dude), the house is not pre-stocked with food items.
  
  Our 2 1/2 yo loved this place. His review is: "Good". Which means it had a nice grass yard to run around in, lots of spiders to point out, a banana tree with fruit, it's own flock of, quiet, chickens, and plenty of rocks to inspect. He gave the path to the beach(es) high marks as well citing "beautiful birds" and "big spider" as must see attractions. My dad remarks: The path to the Po'ipu beach is short enough where he didn't ask to be carried :) vacation!
  
  There are some things about the house that could bother people. It's adjacent to a road with a speed bump right behind the house. Every time someone hits the bump, they also accelerate. Our toddler was woken up once (in 7 days) by a thundering herd of motorcycle dorks. It's only a bummer for midday naps, oh, and that biker incident. Also, they seem to water the yard everyday and the sprinkler system is super loud when it shuts off. It might wake you up if you're a light sleeper. Lastly, as a hyper-draught sensitive person, I wanted to mention that the master bath toilet tank leaks into the bowl so you hear a periodic refill. This may not be a concern for the wettest place on earth :).
  
  If you go here, you'll love it, I'm just sharing the full experience so all sensitivities of traveler can find a place they love staying at.

  My, Mom, sister, and I enjoyed our stay in Hale Ko Cottage. It was comfortable and clean. AC units were a great relief in the afternoons. My travel agent, Christine was helpful and kind. :)
