Kahala 312

Kahala Poipu Kai 312 is a ground floor, two bedroom, two bathroom end unit with outstanding views. A portable A/C is located in the living area for your comfort.

The unit opens to rolling green lawns and the greenbelt walkway to the beach. Well maintained with an updated kitchen, tile floors, beautiful lanai located at the magnificent Poipu Kai resort.

Visitors, you dont need to worry about renting gear on the island. This unit has beach equipment in a collapsable beach wagon that you can take to some of the most pristine locations on the island . Sleeps up to 4 people; and up to 6 with use of the living room sofabed.

Reservations include Poipu Beach Athletic Club membership $30 per night. Access to PBAC is for up to five people.

  The kitchen was fully stocked with great cookware and dishes, which made it easy to cook a few meals and enjoy quiet evenings in. They also provided beach towels, toys, coolers, and everything else we needed for a perfect day out.
  
  The ocean views from the lanai and being just a short walk to the beach were a huge bonus. It truly felt like a home away from home and made our honeymoon even more special. We’re already looking forward to coming back!

  Great time. Unit in lovely location. Great, well stocked kitchen and great room. Master bed comfortable. There were chips in the closet doors that could use touch up paint. The closet doors could use some W-D 40 as they sound like a Halloween song. The master bath vanity needs adjustment, as the left hand drawer and the door don’t close all the way.
  Great to have a washer and dryer. The unit was clean and quiet. Walk to dining, Brennecke’s and Poipu beaches. Be careful as there are 2 steps down to the great room. Not a problem. Just to note for people with walking problems.
  The things mentioned that need repair are minor. The unit and our time there were wonderful. Would highly recommend with a 5 star.

  We stayed here for five nights in August. The place was clean and stocked with the essentials. The patio was our favorite part. It led to an open field that made it easy for the kids to go outside and run around. The beach is just a five minute walk down the path.
  
  There is one portable AC unit that didn’t really help cool the entire place. There needs to be another unit near the bedrooms to really make a difference. Our friends were staying in a similar unit near us and they had two AC units in their place.
  
  There were no linens for the pull out couch.
  
  Access to the Poipu Athletic Club was really nice and a great perk. That was a fun place that both the kids and adults liked going to.

  We had a hard time, finding the property initially, as the written directions stop short at the last, but most crucial part of getting there. And we could not get in touch with the office quickly, in order to ask for directions. Because as overseas visitors, we only had a travel SIM card for data, and could not reach standard phone lines. So we had to stop at a resort hotel, in order to ask them for further information. They did not know the exact location either. We drove around in our hire car for two hours, before finally getting lucky.
  The next day, I set out to find their office in Koloa myself, so I could talk to them in person. Finding it was yet another ordeal, as it is well hidden in a back alleyway and not at the address given; it took half an hour of walking around and asking various shop assistants, if they knew the Poipu 365 office location.
  However, once I found them, Cher and her colleague were really helpful and accommodating. They took my suggestions on board, and have since established a WhatsApp channel for visitors without a local SIM card and thus without local phone line access.
  The accommodation is very old, but everything worked as intended. A blocked drain was fixed swiftly and without fuss. The beach was easily accessible on foot, just a couple of minutes away. The carpark was just outside the unit. The whole stay was a real treat.
  All is well that ends well.

  We have stayed at this condo for several years. The location is excellent - so close to the pool, beach and Kalapaki Joes. The condo had everything we needed for the beach and in the kitchen. We especially appreciated the wagon that helped haul our stuff down to the beach and the 2 beach chairs and the beach umbrella in great condition. There are also 2 foam surfboards, boogie boards and sand toys. The sunsets from the condo are beautiful! Vicky was very responsive when we needed her!

  We are annual returning visitors to Kahala 312 and we have rented for years from Poipu365.
  
  Poipu365 is an excellent property manager; they very quickly respond to and attend to requests immediately.
  
  The condo is in an excellent location, has access to 2 pools, is just a 2 minute walk to Brennecke's or Poipu Beaches, its on an excellent walking path that takes you to Shipwreck Beach/Grand Hyatt and the Maha'ulepu Heritage Trail, Brennecke's restaurant and just a short drive to shopping and other restaurants. The condo has everything you need for a stay including beach chairs, boogie boards, umbrella, cooler, a well appointed kitchen and comfortable beds. One minor thing I would say is that the hair dryer is attached to the wall (like some hotel hair dryers) with only 1600W and if you dislike those , you might want to bring your own (I forgot my hair dryer this trip).

The unit was spotless with lots of amenities and essentials that we could use during our stay. The owners/managers left a booklet with helpful info and with contact details, but we never needed to call them. We loved having our morning coffee on the patio and seeing the ocean in the distance. We had a few ants - what else is new in Hawaii. We found that the Management Company is not really available 24/7.   Getting to Kauai is a little stressful, but you can stay in Oahu for 72 hrs. get a rapid Covid test from the Kidney foundation and the go to Kauai without a bubble hotel, which are crazy expensive and without a 10 day quarantine.

  Despite not being right on the water, the wide expanse of lawn in front of the lanai is delightful. The Kahala complex has spacious, beautiful grounds. The condo itself has been kept up, and the kitchen especially is one of the nicest kitchens we've ever seen in a rental. The fridge is almost brand new and the pots and pans are in good shape. There is an air conditioner in the living room and it does a good job of cooling the south side of the unit in the late afternoon. Fans in the bedrooms create a pleasant sleeping environment. I am already thinking about renting this place again next year!

The location is just a 2 minute walk to Brennecke's and Poipu beaches. It also has a wonderful walking path to the Hyatt and Shipwreck beach and the Maha'ulepu hike. The location is excellent - we could walk to Brenneckes or Poipu Beaches in about 3 minutes, the pool was about a 1 minute walk away, Kalapaki Joes was just a few minutes walk, we walked to the Hyatt, Shipwreck Beach and the cliff every morning, Brenneckes is just 2 blocks away and the Poipu Athletic Club is a walkable distance too (less than 1 mile). The condo was comfortable and roomy and had everything that we needed in the kitchen and for the beach. The beds were comfortable. I also liked the assigned parking space. The ocean view was beautiful and the sunsets were gorgeous. Oddly, about 3-4 days before we left, someone did move a luxurious porta-potty right in front of the tennis courts which became part of our sunset view, but we just walked down to the beach instead of watching it (and the porta-potty) from the lanai. I can't figure out why the sorta-potty was put there - it didn't seem like there was a tennis tournament or anything and just people walking by ended up using it. I am hoping that was just an anomaly. My one request would be to make sure the cleaning staff cleans the lanai furniture. It was super dirty (black in some areas) and it appeared it had not be cleaned in a very long time. I ran to the store to purchase a Mr Clean Magic Eraser sponge and spent about an hour cleaning the lanai furniture so we could sit on it and not get dirty.

  This unit is single level and close to parking. No need to haul luggage or groceries a long way or up stairs. It has a lani that opens up from the living area that opens up into the large green area with a path that leads down to Poipu Beach or head the other way for a stroll to Shipwreck Beach. Great view of the ocean sitting on the lani while having your morning cup of coffee or having a beer after s long day at the beach. We’ll keep this place on our short list of places to stay while we’re in Poipu.

The accommodations and location is absolutely amazing. I will just say location,location, location!!! We woke up early every morning and were able to take a very short walk down the beautifully landscaped path to Poipu Beach. We absolutely loved our stay.   A much needed break from a Canadian winter that wouldn’t end! So we rented a Kahala Poipu Kai apartment for a couple of weeks. The location was amazing, with many beaches to visit within walking distance, restaurants handy, and malls to drive to for shopping. The Poipu Beach Athletic Club was included in our rental, and turned out to be our favourite morning routine for a walk there, a swim or water workout, fresh air workout equipment, the
  Cabana bar serving up good smoothies or food. Little Fish Coffee Shack had amazing smoothies - don’t forget to try an “Angry Dragon!” The apartment was comfortable, on the whole, clean, but could use a little updating in the otherwise serviceable bathrooms. The kitchen came in handy as well as the laundry facilities. Management was friendly and quick to respond to a little issue. Although the rest of the island had some unusual downpours and flash flooding Poipu area missed the nasty downpour- we were very happy to be in that location.

  Great experience. Super location, close to the beach with the pario opening onto lovely green space. It's a really beautiful complex. Restaurants and shopping are within walking distance.
  The house had everything we needed. Laundry machines were really nice to have and we really appreciated all the beach gear and water "toys". That was a great bonus. The only thing that would make it even better would be a wagon to haul all that fun stuff to and from the beach.
  I would rent here again for sure. We loved it.

  You couldn't get a place with a better location. Easy walking distance to a kid friendly beach. Only a few steps to the pool. We enjoyed the green space for the kids to run around in while we sat on the porch soaking up the sun. Great size place for a family of four. Loved that there were kid beach toys and toys to play with. Seemed like there was lots of maintenance going that only occasionally was disruptive to our stay.   Great stay! Kitchen had lots of appliances, good knives, and tupperware. We loved using the surfboards and boogie boards. Poipu beach park was great for seeing monk seals and snorkeling. The sofa bed was in pretty rough shape, we just put the mattress on the floor and it was more comfortable and way quieter. It would be good for kids or teens, but adults would probably not get good sleep on it.

  This was my third stay at Kahala 312 so it does feel like we are returning home. The location, the view, the amenities....all contribute to a wonderful experience. I would recommend bringing binoculars to enhance the whale watching from the lanai...one of the highlights. The pool is perfect....getting sun all day. The beach is a three minute walk away. This unit comes with a paddle board and surf board if one is so inclined. We have stayed at other places in Poipu where these items were not provided. We plan to continue our yearly winter break from Montana in lovely Poipu in this unit....out Kauai "home".

  My wife attended a conference while our two two adult daughters and I enjoyed the beach and the great weather. The Condo was very comfortable, just as advertised. Excellent pool, hot tub, barbecue facilities. Clean, comfortable, great location for a winter holiday away from the ice and snow. Appreciated the snorkeling gear available to use from the Condo, excellent reef/fish viewing at the nearby beach.

  The unit upon arrival was very welcoming with flowers, lights illuminated (as we arrived at night), and a lovely note. The unit has a very well stocked kitchen, toys for the kids, a very comfy gel pad in the closet to covert the 2 twin beds to a king, towels, and all other amenities. The location is ideal, short walk to the beach, steps away from the tennis courts, resort pools, and BBQ. Excellent value for what you get and the management company was excellent work with. We sent an email regarding a few things that needed attention and by the time we got back from the beach it was taken care of! Thank you again for the memories!!!

  We had a great stay! The condo is a 5 min walk from the beach, 1 mile from shopping and restaurants, 30 sec to the pool. It had everything we needed and it was clean. The master bathroom needs updating, but the rest is in good shape.The beds were very comfortable and the place was quiet.

  We hope it won't be too long before we are able to come back to this wonderful vacation condo! We loved Kauai. A big part of it was being able to stay in this perfectly located, relaxing, and comfortable condo. We would definitely return and recommend this location to friends.
  
  Pros: Excellent Location, central to day trips to Waimea Canyon, North Shore, zip lining, and Na Pali Coast raft trip. it's a quick walk to Poipu or Brenneke Beach, very short drive to fabulous dinners, convenient to stores, even urgent care if you need it (we did). I loved early morning runs along the coast. Thank you for the cooler, boogie boards, beach chairs, and snorkel equipment. It felt so green and caring of the islands to not have to purchase these items, then discard them after vacation is over. Well-equipped kitchen, comfortable furnishings and master bed. Appreciated the twin beds for our daughter and son. Immaculately-kept grounds.
  
  Cons: Honestly, these were minor. I did not book the Four Seasons, so everything met my expectations. It seems that the condo is being renovated in phases. The kitchen, one bathroom, and floors are all updated. but master bath is not. That detracted from the experience just a bit. Just need to add dust pan so we could sweep up sand that we may have brought in. As for professionalism of the property management, they left us a note that said they'd bring a replacement remote control. That never happened, but it wasn't a big deal at all to us. I hope, and think they would, be more responsive, if the issue were more serious.

  We loved our stay at 312! Although some reviews noted the 'run-down' interior we found the accommodations perfectly acceptable. Light and airy interior with everything we needed. View was probably better from the 2nd floor but all-in-all a wonderful stay! Easy access to beach, pool & tennis courts. The only regret was that we had to leave!!

  This condo is in a fantastic location. Close walk to the beach with three kids (8yrs, 5yrs, and 2yrs) and the grassy area out front provided entertainment for the kids and allowed us to sit on the lanai and relax while keeping an eye on them. An outdoor shower would be a huge enhancement - or at least a short hose to hook up to the outside faucet. Would keep more of the sand off the floor and out of the tub. The close proximity to the pool was also great for the kids. The master bedroom was very comfortable, although was quite warm. We kept those ceiling fans working overtime! On our last morning, we did spot one very large cockroach, which my kids thoroughly enjoyed - I was just glad we found it on our last morning! Might not have slept as well had it been earlier :) We loved all the toys that came with the place - the paddle board was awesome (although the paddle seems a bit short), and the boogie boards, sand toys, and other water toys were so much fun. We also utilized the cooler on many a beach trip - thank you! Overall, this was a wonderful place and we would stay here again!

So many options! Kahala 312 does receive regular service by the exterminator company so we are sure your discovery was not long for this world! Your suggestion for a hose to hook up to the outside faucet will be shared with the owners! Great idea!

  My only suggestion for improvement is that the condo could use some updating inside, bathrooms/bedrooms especially, the floors, shower in the master bathroom, pictures on walls, bedding, furniture in living room.
  The location is great, the condo bbq's in great shape and close by, the pool close by and very clean and nice. Kitchen very adequate and nice. Overall very clean, many windows so bright and light.

  The condo in a great location and was well stocked with items such as snorkel gear, towels, beach toys, other toys for kids, etc... which was great for our 3 year old. The short walk to the beach and tennis courts was awesome.
  
  There were only a few minor things that could use some attention such as: one of the toilets didn't flush properly; one side of the toaster did not work; and the dishwasher soap tray was broken.
  
  Other than those minor items, everything else was great.

  The Kahala Poipu Kai 312 property is fantastic. The one thing everyone says when it comes to property is Location, Location, Location. This has them all...morning coffee on the lanai, walks down to the beach (Brennecke's Beach) to see the turtles, watch the sunset and just relax! You can sit on the lanai and watch the sunset every night...just a fantastic place to relax and recharge your batteries. The ladies at Poipu 365 are great to work with as well. You will not go wrong choosing this property for your stay on the south shore of Kaua'i. Mahalo

  Our family spent 8 days in Poipu at Kahala 312. It was better than expected. It was a perfect location very close to the best beaches. Our 9 month old had a blast playing with all the condos beach toys and crawling around on the well manicured greenbelt right off the lanai. My wife and I really enjoyed learning to stand up paddle on the board that the condo had.
  We will stay there again on our next trip to Kauai.

  Location was great, the ocean view was better than I expected.The grounds are well maintained. The unit was nicely furnished and the kitchen had everything I needed. The hall bathroom tub water could not be turned on and the toilet had a leak so it "ran' most of the time. The tub was promptly fixed when I called. The toilet did not flush well and continued to run intermittently. I only mention the toilet since it is a waste of water. The unit could use some TLC. I wanted to drop the blinds in the smaller bedroom and there was so much dust that I left them up.On the whole, however, I was happy with my choice to stay where I did.   Having never rented a unit in Poipu, I was nervous. I trust trip advisor and use them for restaurants and hotels at home and while travelling, so I gave it a shot. Before signing a contract on this property, the manager answered several questions either by email or phone. Everything I wanted to know was answered. The rental process and check in was a breeze as was check out. This property was perfect for my needs. Bathrooms a little dated, but large and two full baths for two bedrooms. The location was perfect with a beautiful view of the resort green space and the ocean. Easy walk to a great beach/ beaches, restaurants, walking trail, and other resorts. Also included were beach towels, boogie boards, beach chairs, sand toys, beach umbrella. It was so nice to have everything right there. I would rent this unit again if I had the opportunity to go back to Poipu. Vicki Agor is highly recommended as a property manager.
