The owners searched the world for this incredible oceanfront condo, and spent a fortune creating an absolute masterpiece of design, and world class quality. The hard surfaces of this condo consists of the finest Italian marbles and granites, coupled with top-of-the-line fixtures, and tastefully subdued Hawaiian decor.

The living/family room is spacious and has a dramatic and truly breathtaking ocean, beach and surf line view. This ground floor end unit is one of the closest to the ocean, and is one of the only Kauai vacation condos that can capture a true 180 degree beach/ocean/surf view.

The corner location allows two floor-to-ceiling glass walls. The living room features high quality and tastefully decorated Hawaiian furnishings, a large color Television with remote control, cable television, Streaming App TV for your viewing pleasure, and a high quality stereo system with remote.

The sounds of the ocean are in every room! You can whale watch, enjoy beautiful Kauai sunsets, count dolphins and turtles, or enjoy some of the best surfing action on the sunny south shore of Kauai while inside this unit. Not to mention the large exterior lanai with top quality outdoor furniture for romantic "alfresco" dining.

The dining area features a spacious high quality glass table, and four chairs. There is also kitchen counter seating for two people on swivel chairs. The kitchen is gorgeous, and the setting cannot be duplicated! Imagine creating a gourmet dinner while watching surfers catch some of the best waves on the Island 100 feet away!

This gourmet kitchen is fully equipped including dishwasher, microwave, stove, oven, blenders, mixers, steamer, coffee maker, crock pot, toaster, pots and pans, quality cutlery, and virtually everything you need to create wonderful meals! Solid granite counter tops and the latest "white on white" appliances.

There are two incredible ocean view bedrooms, each with ample closet space for extended stays. This is the only location at Kuhio Shores Resort where the bedrooms feature ocean views. The first bedroom suite features a terrific ocean view, a King Size bed, and classic Hawaiian furnishings.

It is tastefully decorated utilizing local artists. The bed is a Simmons Beauty Rest (firm) and has attractive Ralph Lauren bedding. Your sleeping comfort was the highest priority here! Ceiling fans, cool ocean breezes, controllable lighting, color television, and a private bathroom and shower complete this suite.

The second bedroom also has a beautiful ocean view. It is also tastefully decorated with local artists works and between the trade winds, the soothing ocean sounds, and the views. The second bedroom also features a King Simmons Beauty Rest bed and attractive Ralph Lauren bedding and classic Hawaiian furnishings.

The bathrooms feature floor to ceiling Italian Carrera marble, with solid oak cabinetry and top-of-the-line fixtures, all tastefully decorated. The second bathroom features a full bath as well as a shower. As you can see from the pictures the only rooms in the unit where you will not be able to see the beach or ocean is in the bathrooms.

Great location and property, however I took away a star due to the lack of privacy. Yes I was aware it was a gathering spot for residents at sunset. Yes I was aware the Beach House Restaurant held weddings. What I was not aware of is all the NON residents that use the property in front of this unit. This side of the property is not posted for residents only. The lawn area in this photo is heavily used by locals. The view to the west of the unit is blocked by a canopy for weddings. Defeated the purpose of reserving a corner unit. I would definitely stay at Kuhio Shores again, but not this unit.

Amazing location on ground floor with panoramic view of water and ability to walk right out from the back door. Only downside is both mattresses are extremely soft that left 4 adults in their early 30s with back pain everyday. Other than that very good place.

We loved our stay at Kuhio Shores 119. We have stayed there about 7-8 times and never get tired of the fantastic view of the ocean. The condo is well equipped and very comfortable. We don't do a lot of other activities because the condo is the perfect place to be, and we just love being there. Don't forget to bring your binoculars, you might spot a whale or dolphin. We always see dozens of sea turtles. The sunsets are often amazing.

We enjoyed our stay at this condo. Wanted a ground-level unit so we didn't have to use stairs--& that also puts you up close and personal with the shore. Unit itself is updated, roomy, & nicely appointed. We only needed 1 bedroom but appreciated having 2 bathrooms at times. The view (& ocean sounds) are very nice with the ocean just outside your doors, & plenty of surfers to watch, but do be prepared to share that view with all the people who are staying across the street & come over into "your" back yard to enjoy it, too. Note: it's ocean front but NOT sandy beach front to swim. Next store is Beach House Restaurant--just OK food & a little pricey-- but great location on the water, too if you can snatch a reservation before sunset. (can't see the water in the dark.) They hosted 2 weddings during our 5 night stay & had a lg, lighted tent on their lawn immediately adjacent to our unit. With the sliding doors closed you could hear them but still hear each other talk and they cut off promptly at 9 pm so we had no complaint. This is a great location to explore the island from--we used Makana Charters for a Napali Coast Tour, then a day at Waimea Canyon, then headed up to Kapaa and Kilauea Lighthouse. We have "done" Kauai before so decided not to go up that way again for Hanalei going instead to go to lovely Poipu Beach 5 minutes away rather than make the drive up a 2nd time as we 1st thought we would to Hanalei, but we could have. The staff is helpful, we used the Poipu Athletic Club (about 4 minutes away by car & included in the price) 3 mornings so that was a nice amenity. Beds were comfy, AC works great, place was very clean, had beach chairs, towels, coolers, plenty of choices for dining & local kine shopping all near by. This a nice home base to come back to each evening & reflects upscale yet beachy style. FYI, the bedroom/bathroom doors are louvered (pretty natural wood) but I might have worried about privacy between the bedrooms if we had been with others.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this condo. Its placement right on the ocean was perfect for us. We could sit on our lanai or the lawn and watch whales go by. There was also a couple of huge turtles that liked to hang out right in front of the condo. I liked how we were right on the end on the first floor. Very convenient to the parking lot too. We never had trouble finding a place to park. Beds were comfortable. There is no laundry in the unit, but they do have machines available on each floor. The machines take quarters and we had to go find a bank to get rolls of quarters. What we didn’t realize was that if you go up to the 3rd floor laundry, they have a change machine.
The Beach House restaurant is right next door and they host weddings on the lawn literally 20 feet from your lanai. There were weddings going on 5 of the 7 nights we were there. This didn’t bother us, but if you plan on staying in this unit you should be aware. We would actually sit on the lawn and watch for fun. They would play music and they would be dancing until 9:45 each night. Fine for us, but if you have toddlers or babies, I don’t think you would be ok with it. All in all - we had a great time and I would recommend this condo.

Let me start by saying we would definitely stay here again. The view is amazing and there’s nothing like falling asleep to the sound of crashing waves. The booking and payment process was easy. The condo has everything you need for your stay, a well-stocked kitchen, beach towels and beach chairs. I recommend walking to baby beach which is about five minutes by foot. The only reason for four stars on the location is proximity to the Beachhouse restaurant. While that’s great if you want to have dinner, there were weddings two of our four nights’ stay, so the music was kind of loud; however, they were finished between 9 and 10 PM. Also, public beach access is right alongside this unit and passerbys can look right in the windows. The grassy area was fabulous for sunset viewing. We also saw a sea turtle right at the rock’s edge. Parakeets roost in the palm trees every night. If they bomb your car, there is a hose available in the parking lot 😀. I wish I could post some pics/video.

The location was wonderful. Well maintained grounds with a stunning ocean view. Tasteful decor. Ground floor was nice in that we could just step outside to walk or watch the surfers or go snorkeling. Not a sandy beach area, but you can still access the water if you maneuver over the rocks.
One note: It is right next to a restaurant that has an outside venue for weddings, so there were weddings from 4-9 pm many of the nights we were there. Wasn't a big problem, but I hadn't expected that.

We felt so comfortable and relaxed in this well equipped condo. From sunrise to sunset we had sights of surfers and celebrations ( beach house restaurant next door). We walked to mall and athletic club, but a shuttle was also available. Parking was never a problem and an info packet was waiting for us upon arrival:)

Picked this rental bc of the view and it didn’t disappoint. Air conditioner worked well. Very much appreciated the closet full of chairs and snorkel gear. Good customer service, ez checkin etc. The membership at the Poipu beach athletic club was a nice perk that I wasn’t expecting when I rented.
Close to poipu beach, can walk to lawai beach and the beach house restaurant. Awesome shave ice right across from Lawai beach. Loved watching the turtles from the lanai and the sunsets. Will be back!!!

Just left this condo, stayed for 3 nights. Was nice and clean and very comfortable and spacious. We loved watching all the surfers every day/night right outside the patio. Snorkeling nearby was nice too. We ate at Beach House Restaurant next door and the food was pretty good, but not as good as the food we had at Mama's fish house. If you stay here, please make sure to register your vehicle right away with the front lobby and get your sticker to hang on your rear view mirror right away...we saw someone's car getting towed the day we arrived. Wish there was a washer and dryer in the unit though. I didn't see one.

This rental has the best location. You can sit on your patio and watch the surfers, turtles and sunset. It is close to lots of restaurants, shopping and activities. It was clean and decorated with a Hawaiian vibe. The only thing that we didn't like was the doors are not real doors throughout the condo. They only downside was the interior doors. The doors all have slats in them so as soon and one person is up and about everyone can hear them. Overall it was an awesome rental and would definitely recommend them in the future.

We again loved our stay in this beautiful condo. We're already planning our next trip back. The condo is lovely and very well equipped. The view and setting is spectacular. I don't think there is a better place anywhere on the island to view the beautiful sunset. So fun to see the sea turtles swimming right past the condo. We also saw a pod of dolphins. Its a great place to watch the surfers, too. We can't wait to go back.

We rented this for a week last September and just had to come back. Last year the only disappointment was the WiFi. It was very slow at times. The problem was, that it was open and a lot of people at events next door were using it. I reported this last year and they fixed it. It is now secured with a password and was very fast. Could watch movies without any buffering. Will definitely be back next year!!

You cannot be in a better location with all the views and amenities. For breakfast, We would sit outside, drink coffee and watch the surfers and the sea turtles right out front! The “rental” was more like a home with all the extra little things that made it great! There were beach chairs, a cooler, condiments, a well- stocked kitchen, air conditioning etc. It’s well worth the money!

This was our third vacation to Kauai/Poipu and our first time staying at Kuhio Shores. Where to begin on the positives; #1 = the view, the view, the view. Waking up every day to not only a panoramic view from inside the condo to just taking a few steps to the sea wall was priceless. The condo itself is well stocked with all needed amenities and functioned perfectly for two couples. Poipu365 was a superb Property Management to deal with from start to finish. Vicki Agor was extremely responsive to all questions and a couple of minor issues were dealt with promptly. The property is well maintained and the Grounds Keepers very friendly and helpful. We had read previous reviews on slow WIFI but often the four of us were online at the same time without any problems.

There are a few negatives if you want to call them that. Being the corner unit you do experience surfers and local foot traffic. You also will hear the parakeets in the morning – it doesn’t last long. Both of these issues just lent to the “island charm” for us. I would like to see the mandatory $15/day Athletic Club membership as an optional fee. It was used only once by one couple and facilities was just ok as athletic clubs go. The fee includes basic gym services only (weight equipment & pool) all classes such as yoga is an additional fee.

We all give Kuhio Shores a Thumbs Up and the Rice Clan is ready to book our 2020 vacation today!

The location was excellent, just steps from the ocean and the perfect spot for sunsets. The ground floor condo was well stocked and clean. All the basic necessities were provided in the kitchen, baths, and beach closet. The beds and furniture were comfortable and the condo was well appointed. The management was very responsive when we had trouble accessing the wifi. We suggest bringing a few rolls of quarters and some laundry soap for the community machines as electricity is very expensive on the island. The guest membership to the Poipu Athletic Club was great and we took advantage of the hot tub daily after a full beach day. The snorkeling at this location is truly the best on the island. The coral is amazing. Don't be afraid to get out beyond the rocks to see the gorgeous coral beds and the turtles. You can rent gear at Boss Frog's right next door. Surfers love this beach too! We found a 50 mile stretch of beach in Kekaha if you like big waves for boogie boarding. Be careful of Brennecke's Beach as the waves are dangerous and there is no lifeguard! We suggest shopping at Safeway in Lihue to stock up before driving to Poipu as it is a 35-40 minute drive. There are wonderful restaurants close to Kuhio Shores, but they can be pricey! We liked Keoki's Paradise and Kalapaki Joe's for good prices. We had some good pupus at the Athletic Club as well. We took a catamaran trip to see the Na Pali coast. Check out Blue Dolphin but get your tour booked ahead during high tourist seasons. Kauai Snorkel tours is good, but the lady at the reception desk lacks social skills and can be off-putting. Honestly, the snorkeling on the catamaran trips is underwhelming compared to the beach near the condo, but the view of the Na Pali coast is wonderful and it is the only way you will see it as the road has been closed since April of 2018. We now love Kauai thanks to our unit #119 at Kuhio Shores!

This unit has an amazing view (right next to the Beach House Restuarant) and is decorated tastefully in an island style. The sliding doors open right onto the lanai and the grassy area, which is perfect for having coffee in the morning and watching the amazing sunsets.
The kitchen and bathrooms have beautiful granite countertops and the kitchen is fully equipped with everything you might need, including a dishwasher. The weather was a little hot and humid during our visit, so the air conditioning in the unit was a nice bonus.
We have stayed in many units at Kuhio Shores over the years, and this condo is one of the best!! We will definitely be back to #119.

I have stayed in almost all of the first floor units at KS and this is now probably my favorite, primarily because you can open bedroom windows and hear ocean at night. Well equipped, clean, very comfortable beds.

I did not appreciate the athletic club fees being automatically added. And I have NEVER paid for booking and travel insurance through an owner or agent - I always get my own and so I did not appreciate those additional charges.

Not a huge unit, but sufficient for our needs. Kitchen had one would need for cooking while on holiday. Due to a family emergency we were only able to stay for one night. Therefore our assessment is only based on a very short visit. Beautiful view to the water with only about 30' separating you and the ocean. No beach in front of the unit, but lots of waves for the surfers...and there were plenty of them. There is a pathway right beside the unit, which affected our privacy. Many from the street used this pathway to enjoy the beautiful view from the property. For longer stays, we would prefer laundry in unit, which this did not have. There is laundry in the building.

This rental has wonderful location with marvelous views. Look straight out at the ocean and you might see whales or dolphins jumping, turn your head slightly there might be surfers , turn your head slightly more toward the west and you could see a gorgeous sunset. The furnishings are beautiful with very comfortable beds. The package came with a membership to an athletic club which we didn't use, why would you? When you have the beautiful beaches of Kauai. So I wish they had made the membership optional as it was quite expensive.

Nice Condo, but Not So Private

Nice condo for two couples or a small family. Nice kitchen with all the amenities and a wonderful view of the ocean just 30 feet from the lanai. You have a front row seat for watching surfers and snorkelers.

One precaution: If you are looking for a private lanai/grass experience this is not the unit for you.
This unit is on the ground level corner and the lawn in front of the lanai is a favorite gathering spot for sunset watchers. There is also a walkway next to the unit used by people accessing the ocean side of the building and the next door restaurant.

The restaurant also hosts weddings, which end up being very close to this condo. All was quiet though by the time the restaurant closed at 9.

One suggestion would be to have the cleaning crew clean under the furniture. Other than that, the unit was clean and comfortable.

The property managers for this unit are easily accessible and respond quickly to inquiries. All in all, this is a really nice condo and I don't think you can get much closer to the ocean.

My husband and I rented this condo for a Poipu stay-cation. The ocean front location and views were fabulous. The condo is clean and well stocked. The only downside is that this unit is right next door to the Beach House restaurant. There was a wedding reception one night on the lawn right under our bedroom window catered by the restaurant, so it made for a noisy night until all the wedding guests left.

This location is my favorite so far, I've stayed 3 times in the complex the views are stunning, being able to walk out to the grass or to the beach was terrific! The upgrades are super nice, loved the kitchen and the bathrooms are new and nicely done I'd give it a 10. (Note couldn't find any instructions for the TV or internet also no remote for the bedroom TV)

You can't get any closer to the water! Very pleasant ocean breezes and the sound of the waves is very relaxing. The unit was a good size and had all the amenities. Only negative is that tenants/guests using our outdoor furniture in order to enjoy the view; this was not a very comforting feeling. Signs should be posted to inform others not to do this.

At the end of February my husband,daughter,son-in-law and I stayed four nights in this beautiful condo. It was perfect for our needs. We loved being so close to the ocean,walking down to the beach to snorkel, exploring
the pools and of course sitting right on the lawn in front of our lanai to watch the beautiful sunsets. There is some foot traffic along the side of the condo as this is a corner unit, but this did not bother us at all. When needed we could close the lower shades which provided complete privacy while still allowing us to view the ocean and sunset. We felt so fortunate to have this condo so close to the ocean and on the ground floor. To be able to step right out the screen door and have an unobstructed view of the water was wonderful. The condo itself has a great layout and is very clean and well appointed. The kitchen has everything you will need to prepare your meals if you want. We ate there everyday and prepared some wonderful fish dinners. We saw no need to eat out as we could buy fresh seafood nearby and also fresh produce from farmers markets. There are also pantry supples available for your use in the cabinets. There is a nice restaurant next door, but we never felt the need to go out as we loved staying in our own beautiful spot. We hope to visit again. Great memories of this lovely place!

This condo is wonderful. The snorkeling on the beach right next door was stupendous, as were the sunsets and sunrises. The only negative was that the lanai had a lot of spiderwebs which we cleaned off before we were able to relax and enjoy the view.

My newly wed wife and I stayed here on the second half of our honeymoon. We knew the property was on the beach but it's safe to say we underestimated how close and beautiful the view was going to be. We loved waking up makin breakfast and watching the surfers in the morning. We were also pleasantly surprised by a bottle of champagne with two chilled glasses waiting in the fridge for us. Arriving home from our stay in poipu was pretty depressing, I'll admit. Get us back there!

What a lovely condo - roomy, clean, and beautifully decorated and maintained. With the ocean right in front of you, a semi-private lagoon for snorkeling 100 yards to the right of you, a 5-star restaurant a few yards from your front door, what could be better? This is our second stay at Kuhio Shores #119 and we had another wonderful vacation. Kauai has everything except the wall to wall hotels and overcrowded beaches. There is so much to do, you have to come back to do more. Our family of 4 adults couldn't have been more pleased. Mahalo and aloha and we will definitely be back soon.

We have stayed at Kuhio Shores a number of times before, but not in this particular unit. We love this property because of the proximity to one of the best snorkeling beaches on the island, the surf (and lots of turtles) just 30 feet from our lanai, as well as one of the best restaurants (the Beach House), both right next door (you don't even need flip flops to walk over there). This unit was better appointed than any of the others in which we have stayed, and has one of the best locations on the property (ground floor, end unit, closest to the beach). We requested an early check-in, as we were moving from another unit in the same building, and this was readily accommodated. It was very nice to have two king size beds and a washing machine/dryer in the unit, which none of the other units had. There was also snorkeling gear, a boogie board and four beach chairs in the unit. It would have been nice if this unit had lounges on the lanai (that is the only thing we missed about the other condo), but the chairs provided were OK too. This condo is a bit more expensive than some of the others, but we will definitely stay here again. Sunny Poipu is the place to be! (our friends stayed in Princeville and got a lot more rain during their stay at this same time). We love Kauai (have been there 9 times), and look forward to our next trip, during which we will definitely try to stay in this unit at Kuhio Shores again.

We loved our stay at Kuhio Shores 119; the location is amazing - views of surfers and sunsets, the sound of waves crashing, snorkeling in the morning before breakfast, tons of turtles... the unit itself was very nicely furnished and comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped, and there is a gas grill in the complex that we used to sample fresh Hawaiian fish that we bought from a nearby market. The rental process was easy, communication was prompt, and we were personally welcomed when we arrived. Highly recommended!

This unit with it's two corner windows gave us an almost panoramic view of the ocean. The unit is well "stocked in the kitchen and in the bathrooms there are hit dryers and even a curling iron. Furnishings were so a appropriate for Kauai.
No need to worry about things for the beach. There are chairs, boogie board, large and small ice chests etc. Wonderful view of each sunset.
Being on the ground floor mad it so accessible to the parking lot.
We made a GREAT choice in sleeking 119!

A wonderful holiday destination. #119 was perfect, clean, well appointed and very comfortable. Both bedrooms are large and beds so big and comfy. Bathrooms excellent. Kitchen has all the things you need. The ice maker in the fridge was well used. Comfy seating area and wow, that view from all sides of the Poipu coast and Pacific Ocean is breathtaking. Waking up and being able to enjoy your morning coffee watching sea turtles off the shore is like nothing else.
Would highly recommend this unit and would stay there again any day. Fantastic service and such a wonderful holiday.

Great place, we rented three condos here during the week and had four guys staying here which was great because it was perfect surf access to the best breaks on Poipu. Only issue was noise due to multiple weddings at The Beach House next door, every day not just on Saturday, since this unit is on the end of the complex next to Beach House, there is really no sound break....Overall, great setting and a wonderful week!

Wow - my husband and I have been traveling to Hawaii since 1986. Kauai haws been our long term favorite island and Poipu our favorite location on the island. Now we have found our favorite location at Poipu - it's Kuhio Shores #119. Can't decide what we liked the best. The location, the view, the surfers in the "front yard", the notable "Beach House" Restaurant next door, or the two king beds which makes it so easy to bring along another couple. The unit faces south and being on that side of the building we were totally protected from the winds and showers that were present during our springtime visit, April 20-27, 2014. The surf was high and the surfers were mesmerizing - such fun to watch! In all our visits to Hawaii we have never had the privilege of sitting on our lanai and watching surfers. This was such a treat. Can't recommend Kuhio Shores #119 enough! Just hope we can get our next reservation when we want to return!!! Thanks Poipu365 you were great and made it so easy!!! My husband and I recently returned from a ten day vacation visit to Kauai where we stayed at Kuhio Shores #119. Over the years we have stayed in several condos and houses in a variety of countries and states. We would rate our stay at Kuhio Shores very high among those experiences. Condo #119 is ground floor with a great view of the ocean. We were treated to daily displays by whales and dolphins, views of sea turtles from the sea wall and each day ended with great sunsets. Excellent snorkeling was just a few yards aways. We do not surf but those that do would find this to be an excellent spot to do so. The condo management certainly gets five stars for paying attention to details...with the condo being very clean and well equiped and having all needed kitchen items and ample paper products, detergents, and soaps for our entire stay. The condo is an easy 30 minute drive from the airport and located centrally for visits to the the north and west coasts and up into the Kokee State Park area. Also, well postioned regarding the local shops and places to eat. A very clean and secure evirnoment with easy parking. If we return to Kauai, we would certainly go to Kuhio Shores again.

Top marks for professional service during booking and then again with the follow up after our stay. Very accessible condo, nicely furnished, comfy beds, beautiful view. We felt secure the whole time.

We were a bit put off by 3 things:
1) There was an insane amount of dust on the silk plants in the second bedroom and bathroom. When you observe that type of cleaning oversight, you can't help but wonder what else might have been overlooked. We put the plants in a closet to keep them far away.

2) Only 1/2 a roll of toilet paper in the master bathroom and no more provided. There was an extra roll in the other bathroom. We had to buy additional toilet paper which really "bummed" us out given that is generally a supplied item.

3) We like to cook at home. However, I would like to see that the owners do a better assessment of the supplies they provide. For example, supplying Saran wrap, food storage containers (Tupperware), and maybe a few more items in addition to salt, pepper and sugar.

We would recommend this spot as it has a lot to offer to others but would caution them on the above items.

This review was also posted on VRBO and owner's response only addressed item 3 (just barely) - so I'm not certain if they really are interested in guest reviews which are not 100% glowing. Oh well.

This vacation rental was wonderful! We were 15 feet from the water, with terrific snorkeling. Giant green sea turtles were crowding around the rocks. We saw flying fish from the patio, jumping 6-7 feet in the air. We watched humpback whales spouting and diving. Parking; next to very good restaurant; next to snorkel rental; fantastic views of sunrise and sunset. Rental company very accommodating -- allowed us to checkout a few hours later because our plane was leaving later. Highly recommend.
